Which Speedhut gauge line is right for my build?
From universal gauges that fit any vehicle to direct-fit dashes made for one model, we have gauges for your build. Every Speedhut gauge is designed, built and tested in the USA, fully customizable, weather resistant, and backed by our Lifetime Warranty (lifetime on the circuit board, 5 years on sensors and wiring).
Beyond that shared foundation, each line is built for a different job. Here's the breakdown.
Universal-fit lines
Universal gauges fit any car, truck or custom project. Five series share the same stepper-motor internals; they differ in looks and alert features.

CAN-Bus lines
CAN-Bus gauges read data straight from your vehicle's ECU or controller, so most installs need no extra senders or signal wiring. Pick the line that matches what's running your build.
CAN-Bus Lines at a Glance
| Line | compatibility | Connection |
|---|
| Freedom / GM CAN-Bus | 2008+ GM ECUs via OBDII | Plugs into the 16-pin OBDII port |
| Haltech | Haltech ECUs (1M baud) | CAN high and CAN low wires |
| Holley | Holley EFI ECUs | CAN high & low |
| EV CAN | Orion, AEM, Zero EV, Thunderstruck, Resolve EV and EV Controls units | CAN high & low |
| Custom CAN | Any vehicle with provided .DBC file, most gauges | CAN high + low |
Freedom / GM CAN-Bus
With CAN-Bus OBDII technology, these plug-and-play gauges work in GM applications that support the CAN protocol (SAE J1979, 2008 and later).
Key features
- Vehicle compatibility: 2008+ vehicles and ECUs with CAN data output.
- Speedometer, Tachometer, and Water temperature gauges work on most OEM CAN.
- Plugs directly into the 16-pin OBDII port
- Plug-and-play daisy-chain connection
- Preset shift light tachometers and warning-light versions available (can only be set at factory)
- OBD2 harness required sold separately
Haltech CAN-Bus
Built to integrate directly with Haltech ECU systems.
Key features
- Reads real-time data directly from the Haltech CAN stream
- Connect CAN high and CAN low wiring to get signal
- No additional sensors required for gauges
- Speedometers (with optional turn-signal and high-beam indicators), tachometers, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, volts and fuel level
- Preset warning lights
- Reads data, does not request
Holley EFI CAN-Bus
Built to integrate seamlessly with Holley EFI systems, with classic analog styling over modern electronics.
Key features
- Reads real-time performance data directly from the Holley EFI ECU
- Simple CAN daisy-chain installation with no extra sensors required
- Fully programmable warning light and recall functions
- Speedometers, tachometers, boost/vac, fuel pressure, oil pressure, water temp, volts and fuel level
EV CAN (Electric Vehicles)
